William Daniell
William Daniell RA (1769–1837) was an English landscape and marine painter, and printmaker, notable for his work in aquatint. He travelled extensively in India in the company of his uncle Thomas Daniell, with whom he collaborated on one of the finest illustrated works of the period – Oriental Scenery. His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy and the British Institution and he became a Royal Academician in 1822. View Artist Collection

Thomas Daniell (1749 – 19 March 1840) was an English landscape painter who painted Orientalist themes."The Fakeer's rock. The Banks of the Ganges - 1825 Haridwar is one of the most celebrated places of pilgrimage in Hindustan. The principal flight of steps from the street to the river, exhibits a most elegant piece of plain masonry, and is considered upon the whole the most sacred spot upon the Ganges.The single street of which Harirdwar almost entirely consists, is parallel with the course of the Ganges, and very narrow, especially where it terminates upon the large gaut.
