"Krishna and Balaram" is a popular painting by the Indian Modernist Jamini Roy shows Lord Krishna and his brother Balaram dancing in Vrindavan along with beautiful peacocks. Balarama and Krishna spent their childhood as a cow herder, playing for fun and enjoyment and not for sport or gain. Roy used bold, sweeping brushstrokes while painting and restricted his palette to seven vibrant and earthy colours – Indian red, yellow ochre, cadmium green, vermillion, grey, blue and white.
