About Kraftwerk in Toronto Retro Vintage Music Concert Poster
Kraftwerk is a German electronic band formed in Düsseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Widely considered innovators and pioneers of electronic music, Kraftwerk were among the first successful acts to popularize the genre. The group began as part of West Germany's experimental krautrock scene in the early 1970s before fully embracing electronic instrumentation, including synthesizers, drum machines, and vocoders. Wolfgang Flür joined the band in 1974 and Karl Bartos in 1975, expanding the band to a quartet. The Grateful Dead was an American rock band formed in 1965 in Palo Alto, California. The band is known for their eclectic style, which fused elements of rock, blues, jazz, folk, country, bluegrass, rock and roll, gospel, reggae, and world music with psychedelia;for their differentiated live performances centered around improvisation and for a devoted fan base, known as "Deadheads". According to the musician and writer Lenny Kaye, "Their music touches on ground that most other groups don't even know exists."For the range of their influences and the structure of their live performances, the Grateful Dead are considered to be "the pioneering godfathers of the jam band world".
