Hiroshi Yoshida (1876 – 1950) was a Japanese painter and woodblock printmaker. Hiroshi Yoshida is regarded as one of the greatest artists of the shin-hanga style, and is noted especially for his excellent landscape prints.
Yoshida travelled widely, and was particularly known for his images of non-Japanese subjects done in traditional Japanese woodblock style, including the Taj Mahal, the Swiss Alps and the Grand Canyon.

Yoshida Hiroshi (1876–1950) was the most successful Japanese woodblock printer of the early twentieth century. Initially trained as a Western-style painter in oils and watercolours, he shifted his focus to woodblock printmaking in the 1920s, producing exquisite prints with a translucent, layered quality reminiscent of watercolours. He was a leading figure in the ‘Shin Hanga’ (New Print) movement, which looked to revive traditional ukiyo-e printing by combining Japanese techniques with Western artistic conventions.About the Posters
