A contemporary glass painting of Jesus and Mother Mary. Christ is crucified between the two thieves mentioned in some of the Gospels, while the Virgin Mary swoons piteously in the foreground and a host of figures, some in oriental dress and some in Roman armor, take part in the execution or gaze at Christ as though he has somehow stirred them.

This painting just depicts an imagination of the artist - Mother Mary hugging Jesus after the Crucifixion displaying the strength of an artistic tradition in te service of emotional effect. Both the figures display stress of the scene's reality promoting a devotional value of memoirs from the Passion, and Scipione Pulzone's Lamentation which shows Christ's body removed from the cross and cradled by his dear mother.
