About Holy Trinity
"Holy Trinity", also known as "Pala delle Convertite", is a masterpiece by the famous Renaissance master Sandro Botticelli, showing the Trinity (God the father, a dove symbolising the Holy Spirit and Christ on the cross) within an almond with seraphim, with Mary Magdalene (patroness of the convent) and St John the Baptist (patron saint of Florence) presented here as role models – as humble servants of God’s will – who have divested themselves of any yearning for earthly trappings. In the foreground of the composition, represented on a smaller scale, is the Archangel Raphael accompanying Tobias. It is housed in Courtauld Institute Galleries of London.
